Implementos S.A. has nearly 30 years of experience in the transport market. The company has established itself as a leader in the sale of spare parts, supplies and accessories for lorries, buses and trailers, offering its customers the possibility of repairing, maintaining and equipping their vehicles in one place.
Implementos S.A. currently operates more than 30 stores in Chile, 12 in Peru and 4 in Spain, consolidating its position as the largest network in its sector in Latin America, with expansion plans on the scope and strengthen its presence in Spain and other markets in the future.
Challenges
The transport industry is evolving rapidly: new competitors are emerging, competition is intensifying and regulatory changes require constant adaptation.
“To remain competitive, we must constantly seek technological alternatives that optimise processes and take results to the next level,” says Juan José Bonilla, Corporate Logistics Manager at Implementos S.A.
The start of the transformation project
With the aim of sustaining its growth and strengthening its leadership, Implementos S.A. defined three key strategic goals for its supply chain:
- Align supply and demand, avoiding stock shortages and improving service levels.
- Optimise supply chain workflows to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Improve decision-making, ensuring product availability while reducing capital tied up in inventory.
“Beyond growing in size, our mission has always been clear: to exceed customer expectations with timely solutions, exceptional support and an unrivalled shopping experience across all channels,” adds Bonilla.
Slimstock: more than just software
After an exhaustive evaluation process, Implementos S.A. chose Slimstock as its strategic partner in 2016. Since then, the relationship has been consolidated and evolved, becoming an alliance that grows at the same pace as the business. “Slimstock was the only one that showed real commitment to the project. In addition to the effectiveness of Slim4, they gave us the confidence that they were a true partner who would accompany us throughout the process,” says Bonilla.
Since go-live, Slimstock has closely accompanied the company in the implementation and evolution of the system. Even years later, the Customer Success and Support teams continue to actively collaborate to maximise the use of Slim4 and enhance the desired efficiencies.
Results achieved
The benefits of the partnership are clear and measurable. During the nine years of working together, Implementos has achieved:
- +10% improvement in product availability each year.
- +20% sustained annual growth.
- +50% improvement in GMROI.
All these improvements have been achieved while maintaining the same level of stock.
‘Thanks to the help of Slimstock’s consultants, we were able to quickly start using Slim4. It has been an investment that has more than paid for itself, and today we continue to see tangible benefits,’ says Juan José Bonilla.
In addition, Slim4 has freed up time for teams to focus on strategic tasks such as cleaning up the assortment, defining stock policies and product matrices. “Today, we really buy what we sell and have the right stock, in the right place and at the right time,” he adds.
Looking to the future
Implementos S.A.’s international expansion plan is already underway. After consolidating its operations in Chile and Peru, the company has begun operating in Spain, with the ambition of strengthening these divisions and, in the medium term, growing in other neighbouring countries.
With Slimstock as its strategic partner, Implementos S.A. is making steady progress towards its goal of continuing to lead the market for transport spare parts and accessories in Latin America.
