Family-owned Deventrade BV is a key player in the sports industry. Founded in 1985, the company’s sportswear and accessories brands—including Stanno, Reece Australia, Hummel, and Derbystar—are stocked in over 700 sports stores across the Benelux region.

Football enthusiasts may recognise the name Derbystar: “We’re especially proud of our association with Derbystar as they’re the official sponsor of the Eredivisie,” says Freek Jansen, Head of Buying at Deventrade. Jansen walks through the warehouse, highlighting the seasonal nature of their stock: “Team sports are highly seasonal for us. Our peak season begins in May and winds down in October. All our stock is managed here in Deventer, from where we distribute to multiple countries.”

 

27% Inventory Reduction

To streamline its supply chain, Deventrade adopted Slimstock’s Slim4. “We’ve been using Slim4 for a year and a half now. The first six months involved some challenges as we transitioned from our previous system, but with the help of the Slimstock Academy, we have achieved a 27% reduction in inventory,” says Jansen.

 

Optimising Variants

In addition to the core platform, Deventrade makes the most of Slim4’s advanced features. Jansen explains, “Our product range includes various sizes and colours. The variant manager helps us optimise stock redistribution by automatically calculating which sizes or colours are in the highest demand.”
