Shimano, a global leader in professional cycling and outdoor performance solutions, has selected Slimstock’s planning platform to support its continued expansion across Brazil and the wider Latin American region.
Operating in a market shaped by significant demand volatility, Blue Cycle, Shimano subsidiary in Brazil, recognised the need to strengthen operational maturity. As the business has grown in scale and complexity, traditional spreadsheet‑based processes have become increasingly restrictive, limiting visibility and slowing strategic decision‑making.
Lucas Certo, Supply Chain Coordinator, at Shimano Latin America explains: “As we grow our footprint across Brazil and Latin America, enhancing our planning capabilities is essential. We need clear visibility, stronger control and the right digital foundations to deliver a more efficient and scalable operation.”
As part of its digital transformation, Shimano will implement Slim4, Slimstock’s advanced supply chain planning platform. By unifying demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and end‑to‑end planning, Slim4 will help the business navigate challenges such as slow‑moving items, highly specialised spare parts and fluctuating demand patterns.
With improved visibility and data‑driven insights, Slimstock will support Shimano’s ambition to:
- Build a more agile, data‑led planning process.
- Strengthen inventory control to avoid both excess stock and stock-outs.
- Enhance assortment and portfolio management.
- Achieve end‑to‑end transparency across the supply chain.
Shimano’s decision was reinforced by the strong global references Slimstock holds within the wider Shimano organisation. Positive experiences in other countries have built confidence in both the robustness of the solution and the expertise of the Slimstock team.
Slim4’s flexibility and scalability were also key differentiators. Its ability to integrate seamlessly with Shimano Brazil and Mexicos’s existing technology landscape ensured a smooth fit for the business’s evolving operational requirements.
The adoption of Slim4 represents a strategic milestone in Shimano’s Latin American expansion, strengthening digital maturity, enabling sustainable growth, and equipping the organisation to meet future demand with greater precision and control.
