With the main objective of increasing service levels, Motocard, the leading motorcycle equipment distributor in Spain has joined forces with Slimstock.

With more than 30 years of experience in the sector, the Catalan company was looking for a tool that would help them to significantly increase their fulfilment rate. For this reason, the motorcycle specialist took the strategic decision to implement Slimstock’s inventory optimisation solution, Slim4.

As part of the optimisation project, Motocard will optimise its inventory as well as refine internal processes. With a constantly growing catalogue of products, this strategic move will help the business to better support the needs of the motorcycling and cycling enthusiasts it serves.

Passionate about speed and everything that moves on wheels, Motocard will now be able to optimise stock transfers and returns between their various warehouses. Once implemented, Slim4 will help the business to ensure the right stock in, the right place. Thus, minimising the need for stock transfers. Furthermore, the planning team will attain greater visibility over inventory levels across all locations before placing an order with a supplier.

Fabrico Ojeda, COO at Motocard, highlights the value of this project: “We are growing very fast as a business. Therefore, we required a tool like Slim4 to cope with this growth. We needed to be able to increase our service levels strategically, while still optimising our inventory”.

With headquarters and distribution warehouse in Solsona, Motocard has 14 stores across Spain and Andorra with plans to soon open in Portugal.

With help from the ABC and Order Generator modules within Slim4, the business will be able to make better product assortment decisions as well as generate purchase orders with greater agility. The inventory tool will also help the planning team to manage the supplier purchasing contracts.

As lovers of motorcycling, Motocard strives to support the industry in all areas. As frequent participants and sponsors at key events, motorcycling is much more than a means of transport. In fact, the business has supported several leading motorbike riders including Marc Márquez, Iván Cervantes, Aleix and Pol Espargaró, and Jonathan Rea.

Highlighting the excitement around helping such an important retail company, Arnau Peris, Managing Director at Slimstock Spain, states: “Motocard is working hard to offer the best possible service to its customers. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to this journey which will mean a great improvement in optimising their inventory and increasing service levels.”
