Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia, has successfully completed project closure with Slimstock, strengthening its inventory planning approach across a complex, multi‑location environment. The project establishes a more centralised, data‑driven planning foundation, improving visibility across locations and supporting more consistent planning decisions.
By embedding Slim4 into daily planning workflows, the team is now better positioned to reduce manual effort, move beyond basic moving‑average forecasting methods, and support closer alignment across the end‑to‑end supply chain. This includes planning activities spanning upstream materials, finished goods and distributor networks.
Strengthening planning control across locations
As organisations scale across multiple locations and distribution points, inventory planning often becomes fragmented, spread across different systems and spreadsheet‑based workflows. Over time, this can make it harder to maintain consistent planning logic, achieve network‑wide transparency, and respond effectively to changes in demand and consumption patterns.
As part of its supply chain planning journey, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia identified an opportunity to strengthen planning control by consolidating inventory planning into a more centralised approach. Improving inventory transparency across locations was key to supporting replenishment decisions and stock rebalancing, while reducing time‑consuming manual demand planning across locations and distributor networks.
At the same time, the organisation aimed to enhance forecasting capabilities beyond basic moving‑average models through more robust statistical methods, while also strengthening inventory control practices to reduce excess exposure and obsolescence risk. A further priority was supporting end‑to‑end planning, from upstream materials through to finished goods, including distributor networks.
Project objectives
The project focused on building a stronger and more efficient planning approach across the organisation. A key objective was to improve planning consistency across locations, supported by better visibility to enable more informed inventory decisions.
Reducing manual effort through greater planning automation was central to the initiative, alongside supporting a more data‑driven approach to forecasting and replenishment. In parallel, the project aimed to enable a more connected, end‑to‑end planning process, improving alignment across the wider supply chain.
What Slim4 enables
To support these objectives, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia implemented Slim4, Slimstock’s AI‑powered supply chain planning platform. With Slim4 in place, the organisation now benefits from a more centralised and data‑driven planning workflow, supported by improved visibility to guide replenishment and inventory decisions.
The platform strengthens planning control through enhanced forecasting and decision‑support capabilities and enables a more connected planning process across multiple locations and supply chain stages. Importantly, Slim4 also provides a scalable foundation to support continuous improvement as planning maturity evolves.
What project closure sets up next
With project closure completed, the focus now shifts from implementation to continuous improvement. As the new planning approach becomes embedded into day‑to‑day operations, the next phase centres on strengthening governance, refining decision‑making processes, and continuing to build planning maturity over time.
Looking ahead
Project closure marks a meaningful milestone in Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia’s supply chain planning journey. Slimstock looks forward to continuing its partnership with the team, supporting the development of a more connected, efficient, and data‑driven approach to inventory planning.
