Waterline, The UK’s largest supplier to the kitchen trade, has launched a major supply chain initiative to boost customer service & improve operational efficiency.

As a key subsidiary within the Crown Imperial Group of companies, Waterline offers one of the most extensive ranges of kitchen furniture, appliance, sinks, taps and ancillary kitchen products in the market.

Since the business inception in 1985, Waterline has strived to offer customers a complete kitchen distribution solution. To build upon the service standards its customer base has come to expect as the business expands, the kitchen specialist has embarked upon a supply chain improvement project focused on optimising inventory throughout its network.

Karen Sturgess, Director at Waterline, explains: “Our customers depend on us to deliver everything they need to complete an installation on time & in full. To address the capacity challenges that come with growth while simultaneously improving product availability, we needed to modernise our operation.”

To provide better visibility & control across the business’ 3 distribution centres, Waterline will implement Slimstock’s inventory optimisation tool, Slim4. Once implemented, the inventory planning tool will offer Waterline a complete platform for forecasting, demand planning & supply chain automation.

Explaining the decision to partner with Slimstock, Karen adds: “We explored solutions from several vendors during the selection process. However, Slimstock took the time to understand our business as well as help us to identify areas where we can improve.”

Will Severn, Sales director at Slimstock, concludes: “This is an exciting project that will ultimately help the business to establish a solid foundation for future optimisation. As a business that shares our passion for exceptional customer service, we are proud to be part of Waterline’s continued growth.”
