Since the start of 2015, over 20 professionals from ten different countries have joined the team at Slimstock. Since joining the team in December 2014, Konstantina Efraimidou has been working as a young professional in the United Kingdom. As a consultant, Konstantina’s role involves supporting the supply chain operations of some of the UK’s leading businesses. During this interview, Konstantina discusses her time at Slimstock so far.

What motivated you to pursue a career in supply chain management?

As global economies expand, the importance of supply chain management has become even more apparent. With this in mind, I decided to do a master’s degree in Supply Chain and Logistics management. From my experience so far, it is evident that while a career in supply chain management can be extremely challenging at times, there are also huge opportunities on offer.

Given the knowledge and experience of the people at Slimstock, the company’s young professionals programme offered the perfect platform on which to progress my career in supply chain management. As a graduate from the University of Warwick, I realised that Slimstock would be the ideal place for me to put into practice the theories and concepts I studied as part of my masters.

Why did you choose to join slimstock?

As a young professional, I am mainly involved in helping Slimstock’s customers optimise their supply chain processes through data analysis and consultancy work. Understanding the challenges customers face and finding ways to improve their approach to inventory management and stock control is an important part of my role at Slimstock.

My role allows me to get involved with a number of different projects, businesses and industries. This in turn has enabled me to specialise in areas of personal interest to me. This level of responsibility makes the “journey” even more intriguing. After all, what could be more motivating than working for a company that strives to expand you knowledge as much as possible?

How has Slimstock supported your development?

The support at Slimstock for the young professionals team is invaluable. International training weeks and other company meetings regularly take place at our headquarters in the Netherlands as well as in several other countries across Europe. These events are focused on our specific requests, questions and area of interest as well as sharing knowledge and ideas. Through meeting and working with colleagues from around the world at these training sessions, we all benefit from each other’s experience.
