Basic training Slim4

Led by our expert trainers, the participants will have the opportunity to spend four days immersed in the use of Slim4, a great opportunity to share experience and knowledge. The aim of the course is to bring new users up to the standard of certified Slim4 users.

Dates: 26th of January and 2nd, 9th and 17th of February 2012
The training will take place in Deventer, The Netherlands

Course Outcomes
On completing the course you will be able to use Slim4 for your daily inventory management tasks. You will know how Slim4 generates an order suggestion. You will understand the way Slim4 communicates information and will be able to draw correct conclusions on how to intervene when necessary. You will have increased your understanding of the field of inventory management.

Who is the course for?
- The four day training course is aimed at:
- New Slim4 users
- Existing Slim4 users

The minimum number of participants for a course is 4 persons.
The maximum number of participants for a course is 10 persons.

The Program
The program is varied but with direct application to Slim4, in which theory, practise and practical application alternate. A demonstration version of Slim4 is used throughout the course, and training materials are geared towards generating challenging and interesting results to stimulate discussion.

Day 1Demand Classes and Forecast Exceptions
- basics of good inventory management through demonstration of Slim4
- theoretical principles and basic features of Slim4
- definitions of the Demand Classes and how they influence buying decisions
- forecast Exceptions and how to deal with them
- how to achieve optimal stock levels by using the 'Management by Exception' principle

Day 2New Products and Seasonality
review of Day 1 and how to apply the concepts in practise
- how to identify new products and how to handle them in Slim4
- how does Slim4 calculate seasonality
- how to recognise and apply seasonal factors in Slim4
- linking Slim4 to your own inventory and processes and parameters

Day 3Inventory
- review of Day 2 and identification of gaps between theory and practice
- definition of buffer stock and how to interpret it in Slim4
- integration of inventory with sales, customers and supplies
- what information is require to achieve optimal inventory
- dealing with 'difficult' suppliers and 'yes-but' situations
- how to improve your position in the Supply Chain

Day 4Seletions and Certification
review of Day 3 and application into practise
- why have selections in Slim4
- why there are different methods for selecting in Slim4
- what are the different selection options in Slim4
- how to make selections in Slim4
- develop outline of daily tasks in Slim4
- certification test

Costs
The cost per participant for the 4 day course is € 1.800,00 (including training and teaching materials, coffee / tea and lunch).

Your Trainer
Jolanda Westerhof-Poot
After graduating from the International Logistics University in Breda (NHTV), NL, she worked as a stock analyst. Since 2007 she has worked for Slimstock as a consultant. Jolanda's style is intense, enthusiastic and geared towards generating discussion, but always keeps practical application in mind. As an experienced trainer and consultant she has guided many of our customers through Slim4 implementations, including Agri Retail, Prenatal, Wegter Grootverbruik, Tiger Netherlands and Kuhne Automotive.
