Optimise your safety stock levels

Increasing supply lead times for raw and semi-finished materials coming from the Far East, in combination with expanding Bills of Materials undoubtedly have a negative impact on your safety stock levels. ERP software does not offer the required control to optimise safety stocks based on the desired customer service. Slim4 was implemented by NRF (Netherlands Radiator Factory) in order to support their Sales & Operation planning (S&OP).

"NRF is much more than a factory", says Patrick van Hoek. NRF is located at eleven locations, as well as the central distribution centre in Mill, spread across South, Central and Western Europe, all of them holding their own stock. "Previously, inventory planning was not very well structured, resulting in excess stocks. Deciding to go with Slim4 was easy, our inventory managers were used to going through thousands of items every week and placing orders based on experience and gut feeling. We wanted a system that could provide statistically based forecasts and functionality designed to manage by exception. Slim4 automatically calculates the quantity of stock required".
